Located two hours west of Denver, Colorado, the Devil’s Thumb Ranch is casually elegant with its reclaimed wood beam construction and rustic décor. This environmentally friendly outpost now boasts the 12,000 square foot Ranch Creek Spa, which opened this past February.
The two storey building is located a short walk from the main lodge, and was constructed with reclaimed wood. The reception, retail area, men’s and women’s change rooms are on the main floor, sparingly decorated with western and Navajo textiles and antique pieces. The second floor houses a spacious yoga studio, offering classes every weekend, and eight treatment rooms, flooded with natural light and views of the 5,000 acres of Devil’s Thumb Ranch.
Massages, soaks, wraps, facials, and hand and foot treatments are preformed using all natural, raw botanical oils and herbs. Therapists are well versed in suggesting treatments to counter the effects of the dry environment and high altitude. Consider the Rocky Mountain Rain Therapy, which uses nine essential oils massaged along the spine to boost the immune system and puts focus on structural alignment. After indulging in a few treatments, hydrate with the fruit-infused water or an herbal tea. As an added bonus, head to the change room’s sauna, steam room or relaxing aromatherapy lounge to extend the feeling of Zen.
Devil’s Thumb Ranch features 52 rooms in the main lodge, 16 cabins along the ridge, two restaurants, library, mini movie theatre, swimming pool and hot tub, as well as extensive trails for horseback riding, hiking and cross-country skiing. A perfect getaway for big city luxury paired with a healthy dose of western hospitality.

Located in the heart of Toronto’s fashionable Yorkville district are several of the city’s most luxurious hotels. These are where A-list actors can be found catching a couple hours of shut-eye between attending film screenings, parties and the oh-so-fabulously decadent gift lounges.
Situated at 18 St. Thomas Street is a charming boutique hotel named the Windsor Arms Hotel. Many visiting film celebs, big-ticket musicians, and prestigious jet-setters call this property home when they are in town. And during TIFF, it plays host to the annual In Style party.
Built in 1927 and completely reconstructed in 1999; The Windsor Arms Hotel offers 28 luxury suites with 24-hour butler service, a highly rated full service spa and Lipstick Lifestyle’s favourite spot for high tea in Toronto. It is also just steps away from a glittering array of top designer boutiques like of Hermès, Tiffany & Co., Chanel and Prada.
“There’s nothing we can’t do,” says George Friedmann, Owner of Windsor Arms Hotel. “I once had a guest who frequented the hotel, and before one of his arrivals he called us up to fill his tub with JELL-O. That’s right — JELL-O. You know how our concierge responded? He asked, ‘what flavour?’”

Renowned for its scenic beauty and endless opportunities for outdoor activities, Vancouver is also a cosmopolitan city boasting fine dining, museums, galleries, music and theatre, and of course, shopping. And despite what you may have heard – it does not always rain in Vancouver.
SLEEP
At the very heart of the city is The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, lovingly referred to as the “Grand Lady.” This four-diamond property offers elegant guestrooms and suites, three restaurants, a full service day spa, state-of-the-art health club and indoor pool.
One of Vancouver’s funkiest areas, Yaletown, is the home of the Opus Hotel, a luxury boutique hotel with a stylish and intimate environment. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself rubbing shoulders with actors and musicians during your stay.
Our budget best bet is the Best Western Downtown Vancouver with its convenient location and friendly service. You’re only steps away from all the action.

With all of the hubbub at the airports these days who feels like flying anywhere? Check this, don’t check that, carry on, not a carry on - who knows anymore? Well don’t put that passport on ice just yet. Heys Luggage has come out with a new xcase Mini, a smaller version of the ever-so popular xcase. The xcase Mini comes in bold bright colours and features LED lights within its wheels, so everyone will know to stand aside when you’re racing to catch that last minute flight to Paris.
The 18” mini - perfect for those stringent carry on restrictions - has the same features as the original xcase, with it’s curved handle, internal divider, glossy surface and it’s the world’s lightest at less than five pounds.
We suggest packing only the bare essentials. Happy traveling!

Red or white? Sometimes it’s just too difficult to choose. Sometimes you want both and that’s why we’re crushing on Built NY’s Two Bottle Tote, now you don’t have to choose. Perfect for picnics, these neoprene - think wetsuit material - totes snugly fit your bottled bevies so they’ll stay hot or cold for up to four hours. Clink-proof, to prevent breakage, the two bottle tote stretches to hold and insulate two 750ml or 1-liter bottles.
Available in a variety of patterns and colours - we love the Soho Stripe in rust - these lightweight, versatile totes are stylish and durable, did we mention machine-washable and the soft-grip handle makes transporting a cinch.
Who doesn’t love a picnic in the park!
