We’ve all been there, stuck in a fashion disaster with no way out. Maybe it was trend overload or an overly pushy sales girl, but whatever it was, it happened, and we never ever want to go back there again. Now there’s no need, especially since Nina Garcia, the current Fashion Director at Marie Claire magazine and fashion judge on Project Runway, has launched her new book, The One Hundred: A Guide to the Pieces Every Stylish Woman Must Own. Lauren Weisberger, the bestselling author of “The Devil Wears Prada” returns with a delicious story of three gal pals, living in the Big Apple, who vow to change their entire lives within one year.
We were immediately drawn into the fast-paced world of the characters portrayed in this book. Emmy is a culinary queen who just been dumped by her beau Duncan. He’s now with his twenty-something fitness trainer and Emmy feels her world has come to an end. Leigh has everything - a great job in book publishing, her own apartment and a handsome and successful man who loves her. And we can’t forget Adriana, who is actually our favourite character. She’s a fiery Brazilian beauty who has men falling all over her, wherever she goes.
These three gals have been best buds for a decade, and as they near 30, they are anxious about their futures. But are they truly happy? Follow Emmy, Leigh and Adriana as they struggle between their pact to change their lives, and being true to themselves.

Daddy’s girl. Actress. Material girl. Madonna can easily be classified as one of the greatest influences of our time, and her continuous reinvention can be traced back to her childhood. Her brother, Christopher Ciccone, the one person she kept close after fleeing her hometown for stardom, tells the story of Madonna’s life through his eyes in “Life With My Sister Madonna.”
In Ciccone’s book, he depicts the battles, the fights, the successes and the struggles that made Madonna who she is today. From their shared Michigan upbringing, losing their mother at a young age and dancing at the clubs in Manhattan in the early 80s, to her first world tour, her marriage to Sean Penn, the birth of her children and her marriage to Guy Ritchie, Ciccone tells the story in a way that only a brother can.

Kate Jacob’s debut novel is a wonderful tale of women from all walks of life, coming together to enjoy a common hobby – knitting.
We love Georgia Walker, the feisty main character who runs a successful yarn store in Manhattan’s Upper Westside, Walker and Daughter, and is single-handedly raising her daughter, Dakota.
Georgia is surrounded by a diverse group of gals that you will enjoy getting to know: Anita, her friend and mentor; Cat, her old school pal; K.C., her past co-worker; Peri, her employee; and Lucie and Darwin, knitting club regulars. You never realize how important friends are - until something terrible happens.
And of course, there has to be a love interest. James is the ex and father of Dakota, who ran off when Georgia was pregnant. Now many years later, James has decided he wants back in the picture.
Whether you are a knitter or not, this book is addictive and you won’t want to put it down. We warn you that you may need a box of Kleenex on hand.
On a side note: we understand from IMDB that this book is set to be made into a movie and is scheduled to release in 2010.
