Our editor-in-chief is an actor, so we are always interested in film festivals. One that combines fabulous warm weather and must-see films is the International Film Festival in Puerto Vallarta (FICPV).
Running from March 12-23, 2018, the festival is celebrating its 18th edition and will be showing over 40 films under eleven categories: Official, Academic, Senior, Environmental, Cross-border Cinema, Short Films, Echoes of the Cork Film Festival, Gourmet, Children, Musical and Maguey Award.
Puerto Vallarta, City of Film is the theme of this year’s FICPV as the festival seeks to honor the cinematographic history of the destination, with feature films such as the 1963 cult classic from director John Huston Night of the Iguana, the blockbuster Limitless staring Bradley Cooper, and rom-com Sundown.
Following the theme, films will be screened in and around Puerto Vallarta Parks including Los Arcos del Malecon amphitheater, Lazaro Cardenas and Los Sauces parks, The Jazz Foundation, La Isla Shopping Village and the Office of Cultural Projects (OPC). The festival will be based in the Puerto Vallarta campus of the University of Guadalajara.
