Ascending the stairs to the second floor of the Remède Spa, the spa attendant gently guides me into the women’s locker room. The blonde wood décor is a picture frame for the impressive view of Mexico City’s skyline from the room’s floor to ceiling windows.

Remède Spa is the exclusive spa brand of St. Regis Hotels, and with its focus on customized treatments makes this relaxing haven a welcome treat for residents and visitors to Mexico City.

Located on the 15th floor, the spa is decorated in shades of gray and white, featuring a spacious and light-filled reception, with a hair and nail salon located to the left, floor to ceiling windows offering another view of the expansive city and to the right side a juice and tea bar, as well as a tempting display of beauty products and accessories on offer.

The sleek locker room includes access to an infinity pool, sauna, steam and shower facilities (guests are encouraged to arrive 45 minutes in advance of an appointment to benefit from the pre-therapy options), and the lounge has three options of fruit-flavoured chilled water and herbal teas.

As I’m led to my treatment room, one of seven, I notice the wide array of Laboratoire Remède products on display, the exclusive products for all spa treatments. This allows the spa therapist to pick the right products for each client and their needs, whether its preventing breakouts, a need for hydration or focusing on anti-aging.

Choosing the Remède customized facial, I’m tucked into the treatment bed, a heated pad placed on my stomach, my feet elevated with a pillow, and a cool compress placed over my eyes. As my spa therapist goes through the multiple rituals of cleansing, exfoliating, applying a mask, hydrating and facial massage, she also treats me to a massage of my hands, arms and shoulders.

Her gentle touch is welcomed by my skin – her repetitive motions lulling me into a laid-back state, which she gently brings me back with the soft tone of a brass bell as the treatment ends.

After my treatment, I’m led back to the lounge, with an offering of water, tea or perfectly chilled champagne to ease my way back from pampering into the real world. I feel relaxed, renewed and wishing I could stay here all day.
