I love Australia. I lived in Balmain (just outside of Sydney) for six months, then travelled to Tasmania and up the east coast to Cairns—it was an incredibly memorable time in my life. That was over 22 years ago, and sadly, I haven’t been back since. But I really want to. And with the Hubster this time.
Air New Zealand invites Vancouverites to experience the beauty of this down under destination: “Australia isn’t just a place you see, it’s a place you feel.” Virtual Australia by Air New Zealand, is a pop-up virtual reality exhibit that features several incredible must-see spots in Australia—like Melbourne’s Great Ocean Road, the Great Barrier Reef, Sydney Harbour. And it’s free to attend!
This unique experience is open to the general public this Friday, March 18th from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on Saturday, March 19th from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Please note, Friday evening is a 19+ event as there will be an Australian Wine tasting at the event. On Saturday the exhibit will be open to all ages.)
Oh, and one more thing…attendees will have the chance to win round trip airfare from Vancouver to Australia courtesy of Air New Zealand! (I hear that Air New Zealand is an awesome airline, and it has something called Skycouch, a row of three Economy seats that together create a flexible space. Look: it’s like a bed!)
The Virtual Australia by Air New Zealand exhibit is located at 89 Smithe Street in Vancouver. Reserve your complimentary tickets now at airnewzealand.ca/Australia before they are all gone.
I’m attending on Saturday morning. See you there!
