Lipstick Lifestyle’s office pooches, Oscar and Grissom, love to travel, and have been doing so since they were wee fuzz balls. In addition to joining their parents on many dog-friendly weekend getaways, these adventurous pups have driven across Canada, not once, but twice! Pretty impressive, right?
Recently, the dynamic doggy duo were invited to spend a blissful night at Vancouver’s ultra-swanky hotel, the Fairmont Pacific Rim. They were so excited (pawing at the front door to get going), you couldn’t get them into the car fast enough!

Located in the downtown core, this award-winning property boasts of unobstructed mountain and harbour views, 377 guestrooms (with the most luxurious suites in the city), a variety of first-class dining options, the Willow Stream Spa — over 8,000-square-feet of spa heaven, and is extremely pup-friendly — they don’t charge their human guests for bringing fur babies with them.
On arrival, these VIPs (very important pugs) were greeted warmly by doorman, Patrick — and a plethora of guests, too. Who doesn’t like a pug?

While mom chatted with the lovely Sarah at check-in, dad picked up some tasty treats at Giovane for the humans (they offer amazing gluten-free bread for sandwiches, and their almond croissants are de-lish). Unbeknownst to the puglets, special pooch snacks were being delivered to the pugs’ suite — to tide them over until their supper.

After all the excitement of the schmoozing in the hotel lobby, they scampered off to the elevator — it was time to inspect their room and take a few z’s.
The deluxe space had the Mirza clan grinning from ear-to-ear, and wishing that they were staying longer.

With panoramic views of Vancouver’s breathtaking Coal Harbour and the North Shore Mountains, the elegant space was appointed with modern contemporary décor (butter-soft leather upholstery, luxurious linens and attractive artwork) and a luxurious over-sized marble spa bathroom with spa shower and deep soaker tub (that was mom’s fave).

Dad appreciated the gadgets: an Nespresso machine and iPad. The Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel was the first Canadian property to implement iPad 2 devices throughout all 377 guestrooms with ICE (Interactive Customer Experience TM) by Intelity, allowing guests to customize their stay and interact with all areas of the hotel with a touch of a fingertip.

Oscar and Grissom were thrilled with the plush beds that were provided for their sleepover, and after touring the suite and sniffing almost everything, then nibbling on a bite of a cookie, they curled up for a much-needed snooze.
With the boys snoring away, mom and dad snuck out of the room and down to the extremely popular Lobby Lounge + Raw Bar.
As a guitar-toting musician sang the latest tunes and a James Bond flick streamed behind the sushi-making station, mom sipped on a Fairmont Old Fashioned and dad on a non-alcoholic Tang Dynasty (yuzu juice, pear green tea, basil, kombucha, and soda), served up by their exceptional hostess, Sephora.
Before heading back to the room and the puglets, they satiated their growing hunger with delectable bar bites, including a wild mushroom flatbread, house-made meatballs, and some sushi. Wow, were they ever good!
The night ended with a stroll along the waterfront with the pups, then curling up bed to watch a movie.
Sadly, the staycation had to come to an end, but the Mirzas will definitely return. Maybe mom and dad will visit for a romantic sojourn (and pampering at the spa!).
The Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver is the perfect locale for a staycation, business trip, or a longer holiday, and Oscar and Grissom each give it, not just one, but two paws up!
