Why I’ll Be Taking Viviscal For 6 Months

When my skin and hair are misbehaving, I just want to crawl under a rock. Seriously. I may sound shallow, but those two organs can make or break my day. Since 2008, I’ve had more bad hair days than good. The reason? Messed up hormones! Well, that’s what I’m attributing it to. In the spring of 2008, I underwent a hysterectomy — I had the beginning stages of uterine cancer. I had my cervix, one ovary, both fallopian tubes, and some other parts removed. At the time, my surgeon felt that I didn’t need to take hormone replacement pills, due to the fact that I had one functioning ovary. Last year, after having some tests done by my naturopath, I found out that my hormone levels were extremely low — I was immediately prescribed estrogen and progesterone.

Bad hair
When I see gals sporting gorgeous long luscious locks, like the stunning Lucy Liu, I am so jealous. I used to have super-thick hair, but it’s totally thinned out since 2008, and when I try to grow it, it looks like this. Not so pretty. For the past couple of years I’ve kept my hair short, but I don’t want to anymore! And that’s why I am writing this post.

I’ve started taking Viviscal to help with my hair growth. Viviscal is a celebrity “must-have” supplement — used by Reese Witherspoon, Miley Cyrus and Gwyneth Paltrow — that helps add nourishment and promotes healthy hair from the inside out. The supplement is 100 percent natural, so won’t interfere with my hormones or any other medication, and includes the key active ingredient Marine Complex AminoMar C, which is the essential protein needed to encourage hair growth.

I’ll be taking Viviscal twice daily (hope I remember!!) and at the end of six months, I’ll share (and show you) the difference it has made to my locks. Stay tuned!

Viviscal is available at Shoppers Drug Mart and online at The cost is $59.99 for a box of 60 tablets.

Disclosure: I have been provided with six months worth of supplements by Viviscal.

  • I actually think your hair looks great. I’m thinking of taking Viviscal, too, so I’m anxious to see how it works for you. Please do keep us posted. Best of luck!

  • Agreed, those waves and curls are beautiful! My straight hair is so temperamental and won’t hold a curl.
Good luck and I look forward to the big reveal in 6 mos.!

  • My hair has been growing quite quickly, which could be due to the Viviscal. My funny little bald patch at the front also seems to be growing it!
