I Won’t Eat A Cucumber, But I’ll Put It In My Hair

It’s the truth!

For whatever reason, I am just not a fan of cucumbers. I won’t choose to cook with them, but if they land on my salad at a restaurant, I won’t freak out–unlike a tomato…don’t ask.

The other day when samples of the Yes To Cucumbers Color Protection Shampoo and Conditioner ($8.99 each) arrived, I kinda put them aside. I didn’t really have a reason for doing so, I guess I just wasn’t excited. Perhaps it was kismet, but the next day I actually ran out of shampoo. So, what did I grab, but my Yes To Cucumbers products.

Now that I am back to being a redhead, I don’t want to wash my colour down the drain–I have to be a little bit careful about what I am using to cleanse my hair. This reformulated duo incorporates organic cucumbers, apricots and aloe to strengthen and moisturize hair AND maintain vibrant colour. Anything that will help to stop my colour fading makes me very happy. And for those of you that are trying to be more aware of the chemicals going into your body, you’ll be happy to know that these products are free of parabens, petroleum, sodium laureth sulfate and phthalates.

I have only been using the Yes To Cucumbers Color Protection Shampoo and Conditioner for less than a week now and am already totally in love. Check out this pic of me from the weekend–I think that my hair looks super-shiny. And it feels so healthy. Smells fresh too. Perhaps I’ve been too hard on the good ol’ Cuke?

Will you pop these items in your basket when you’re next in the drug store?

Available at Shoppers Drug Mart.
