Say Buh-Bye To Chapped Lips: 3 Lip Balms You Need To Try

I hate having chapped lips. It’s an awful feeling: dry, tight, cracked and peeling lips. And when they are chapped, I can’t stop licking them, which of course does not help what so ever. These days I am focused on keeping my lips super-hydrated and here are my three go-to products.

Easy to apply, FRESH’s Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment ($28) comes in a handy stick format so you can whip it our of your handbag anywhere to add moisture to your lips. In addition to repairing and nourishing your pout, it will also plump and smooth wrinkles around the delicate lip area. And my mouth definitely needs a little help in that area. Available at Sephora.

I’m not usually a stick-your-finger-in-a-pot, lip balm kinda girl, but both the Eminence Citrus Lip Balm ($24) and the POLYSPORIN Visible Lip Health Overnight Renewal Therapy ($5.99) products have made me reconsider this life choice.

Let’s talk about Eminence’s balm first. It looks like a piece of art and smells absolutely divine. And I really like that this petroleum free balm, made with shea butter and sunflower seed oil, has my lips feeling hydrated immediately and looking voluptuous and youthful within a few weeks of continued use. When I hear the brand name, POLYSPORIN, I immediately visualize the tube of antibiotic ointment sitting in my bathroom cabinet that may or may not be expired. Hmmm, I should really check that out. Focus, Lesley! Well, POLYSPORIN now offers so much more than just ointments, and one of the new products is their Visible Lip Health Overnight Renewal Therapy, which I LOVE. I just add a layer to my lips just before I go to bed, but after kissing the Hubster–’cause he always wipes my balm off–and in the morning my lips feel fab. The emollient and vitamin enriched formula replenishes essential lipids while I sleep and is clinically shown to restore visibly healthier lips in three nights. My lips say thank you. POLYSPORIN Visible Lip Health Overnight Renewal Therapy is available at Shoppers Drug Mart.

What is your current fave lip balm? Have you tried any of these products? Let me know!

  • I got the Sugar lip balm as a freebie and I love it! I’m a stick, as opposed to fingers-in-a-pot, girl, so it worked well for me. Plus, you can get it with a hint of colour too!
