COCO Noir de CHANEL: Sorry Allure, We’ve Found A New Love

We would be lying if we said that we were fragrance connoisseurs. It’s just not true. In fact, we only wear CHANEL, and ONLY Allure Sensuelle – ever since it was launched.

Until now.

A package arrived from CHANEL containing a sleek black bottle in their classical faceted mold: COCO Noir de CHANEL. This is the latest fragrance creation from the legendary French brand.

In 1984 CHANEL launched Coco, a blend of wood, resins, flowers, spices and fruit. And in 2001 it was followed by its softer relation, Coco Mademoiselle. Coco Noir is a distinctively CHANEL olfactory signature fragrance – and we love that. (After one spritz we felt like we were enveloped in the softest cashmere.) For Jacques Polge, the “nose” of CHANEL, the spirit of this luxurious fragrance is concentrated in its woody base and musky notes – the way spices define Coco and fresh jasmine defines Coco Mademoiselle. Striking top notes of grapefruit and bergamot accentuate the rose and jasmine infused floral accord, while the base is layered with sandalwood, vetiver, frankincense, patchouli, vanilla, tonka bean and a musky note. It really is quite scrumptious.

If you are looking for the perfect warm and sensual fall fragrance, this is it.

Eau de Parfum Spray is $112/50ml and $158/100ml. Available at Chanel beauty counters across Canada.
