Spring is finally here! And it won’t be too long before we can march out of the house wearing our new wedge sandals. But, if we are going to be showing off our toes, we had better make sure our feet are in tip-top shape.
Robbie Schaeffer, celebrity manicurist and owner of ROB|B – the first OPI Concept Salon, offers expert advice on the importance of pedicures this spring.
“Feet are often exposed and visible during the spring so it’s important to keep them in top shape so that they look and feel great,” says Robbie Schaeffer. “Sloughing away dead winter skin will restore the soles of the feet and re-energize them, allowing for a more precise pedicure experience. Exfoliation and hydration are important steps to prepare feet for warmer months.”
1. Prep feet with a purifying foot bath to cleanse and soften the skin. We suggest the OPI Pedicure Purifying Foot Bath with Grapefruit and Tea Tree.
2. Use a sugar scrub to exfoliate tough calluses. We like the Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish.
3. Moisturize the skin with a soothing foot lotion. One we have been using is Dr. Scholl’s for Her Cooling Peppermint Foot Lotion.
And what about colour? Schaeffer reveals, “While proper foot care is always in style, we will see an emerging color trend this season that will move toward bold, bright hues such as honeysuckle and coral. Additionally, we will see a new texture of Nail Lacquers, the sorbet style, which will impart a semi-translucent lightly glossed finish on the toes.”
