Backstage Beauty: A Little Rock ‘N’ Roll

We just had to share this look with you – it’s just so rock ‘n’ roll fabulous!

Lora Spiga, makeup artist for Lancôme, created this distinctive and feminine makeup look for the Denis Gagnon Spring-Summer 2011 fashion show, held on October 18 at The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.

“I was immediately inspired once I saw the Denis Gagnon new collection. There was a combination of different textures, layers, zippers and fringes, so inventive, beautiful, and feminine. I wanted to create makeup looks that highlighted each woman’s beauty and that would perfectly complement the collection. Together, we created makeup looks that reflects the creativity of this spring collection.” said Spiga.

We love the controlled messy eyes and subtle nude lip. And we feel that you, our lovely reader, could totally wear it around town (the lip ring is of course optional!)

Here is how to create this look:

Prep the skin with a good moisturizer, and apply La Base Pro in the t-zone. This helps keep the make-up looking fresh longer and gives an even application to foundation.

Mix Maquicomplet Corrector in with Lancôme’s new Teint Miracle foundation. The yellow undertone in the corrector helps to unify skin. For the fashion show, the complexion is showcased via a “mannequin-like” effect. The finish should be matte in the T-Zone with a natural lightness on the cheekbones.

Conceal the under eye with Effacernes focusing on the inner corner, and then set with powder.

Finish the complexion with a light dust of Ageless Minerale Correcteur.

Apply Aquatique waterproof eyecolour base over the entire lid to unify the eyelid.

Apply a thick line of Artliner in Black at the root of the lash. Shape the line so that it stretches out slightly further than the natural lash line.

Apply Le Crayon Khol under the eye and soften with a brush. Add a soft wash of Colour Design Eye Shadow in Montage over top. Blend with finger for a controlled messy effect.

Apply many coats of Lancôme’s latest mascara: Definicils Precious Cells in Black.

Apply La Laque Fever in shade Cyber Coral
