In a recent study Ferrero Canada found that chocolate is one of the top 13 objects that bring women pleasure – it’s right up there with clothes, shoes, music and wine. For us, chocolate would be our number one choice, as we are diehard chocoholics!
Ferrero are the people behind well know brands such as Nutella, Roche, Raffaello, Tic Tacs, and our personal favourite, Kinder Bueno. Have you tried Bueno? Each bar contains deliciously rich hazelnut cream, wrapped inside light crispy wafers and dipped in smooth chocolate. Heaven.
The creative folks at Ferrero have developed a scrumptious dessert recipe, using Kinder Bueno, with the help of sensorial taste expert Amy Snider of Dana McCauley & Associates. The Bueno-misu is rich and creamy, and super indulgent. Perfect for guests or for you to enjoy on your own.
Ingredients:
Makes 4 servings (recipe doubles easily)
1 cup (250 ml) mascarpone cheese
¼ cup (40 ml) strong, prepared espresso
3 tbsp (45 ml) granulated sugar
1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
¾ cup (175 ml) 35% whipping cream
4 Kinder Bueno chocolate bars, coarsely chopped
1 tbsp (15 ml) cocoa powder (approx.)
Directions:
Stir the mascarpone with the espresso, sugar and vanilla until smooth. Whip the cream, using an electric mixer, until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until combined. The mascarpone mixture can be prepared up to this point and help for up to one day in the refrigerator.
Divide one third (about ¼ cup or 50 ml) of the mascarpone mixture between four decorative glasses and dust generously with cocoa powder. Scatter half of the chopped Bueno bar over top of mixture. Create a second layer using the same steps as before. Add the last layer of mascarpone mixture and dust lightly with the remaining cocoa. Garnish with the remaining Kinder Bueno bar (if you haven’t been snacking along the way!). Serve immediately.
Enjoy!
